Nice to meet you!
I'm Colleen, an Anti-Diet Registered Dietitian, Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, and founder of Rosalia Nutrition and Wellness.
My mission is to fight against diet culture and help others heal their relationship with food, improve body image, and navigate life’s transitions with intuitive eating and science-backed strategies for lasting wellness.
I'm so glad you're here!

My Story:
Background
Growing up in the ’90s, I absorbed every message diet culture had to offer: skinnier was better, calories were the enemy, and food was either “good” or “bad.” My self-worth lived and died by the number on the scale. I spent years cycling through calorie counting, restricting, and exercising just to “earn” or “burn” off food—none of it making me healthier, and all of it leaving me anxious and disconnected from my body. I would constantly compare myself to others and never felt comfortable in anything I was wearing.
Studying nutrition in college shifted my perspective and helped me see food differently, but my body image struggles remained. Sure, I no longer forced down unsatisfying fat-free snacks or ate fruit when I really wanted chocolate, but I was still hyperfixated on how my body appeared to others - what I now know is self-objectification and super common in today's world of diet culture and thin ideal. I had yet to find a meaningful and sustainable wy to care for my body.
As a registered dietitian, I’ve worked with hundreds of people to rebuild their relationship with food while managing the stress and transitions of midlife. My seven years in corporate wellness showed me how often my fellow millennials felt overwhelmed and burned out, feeling like the only solution to “get healthy” was to follow a strict diet. While falling back into the comfort of calorie counting was appealing, it wasn't a sustainable solution and often resulted in eating nothing followed by eating everything.
I also spent years in the weight management space, believing I was helping people. But I came to see that the constant focus on weight often did more harm than good. Even when clients lost weight, they rarely felt better — often, trusting their bodies even less than before. The pressure to “keep the weight off” created more stress, fueled by the fear of regaining weight - an inevitable outcome and worst case outcome. The truth is weight loss has never brought the peace we’ve been promised. Instead, it leaves us frustrated, feeling like failures, and chasing the next solution.
Philosophy
After more than a decade as a dietitian—and now as a woman in my 40s—I’ve shifted my approach to one that empowers rather than restricts. Intuitive Eating and body neutrality helped me improve my own body image and gave me tools to support my clients in more meaningful ways.
Today, my work focuses on helping my fellow humans in all stages of life, whether navigating the pressures of college or preparing for and navigating perimenopause, by blending intuitive eating with science-backed strategies that support longevity. Of course, as we get older it's important to focus on adequate nutrition, movement, and self-care, but health in midlife doesn’t come from more rigid rules, stricter diets, or obsessing over the scale. Instead, it’s about learning to listen and trust your body's cues, adjust for the season of life you're in, and then we can build and continue to fine-tune habits that support both well-being now and for decades to come.
Imagine being able to eat a meal without scanning your plate for "good" or "bad" foods. To choose and actually enjoy dessert without guilt. To stop constantly thinking about food or how your body looks so you have the energy and headspace to focus on your relationships, passions, and goals. More importantly, imagine if you never had to go on another diet again because you've learned how to listen to your body and adjust your nutrition and movement to support your ever-changing health priorities.
While I’m still working at being at peace with my body, I’ve left behind the calorie counting, food restriction, and the scale. Now my mission is to help women do the same - to fight against diet culture, reconnect with their bodies, and create a nourishing approach to health that feels sustainable and flexible through perimenopause and beyond. Intuitive eating offers a powerful antidote to diet culture, especially in midlife when our bodies and priorities shift.
